October Giving Project - Stuff the Stockings for the Soldiers

We are collecting the following items to fill big Christmas stockings for our soldiers in Iraq.  We are working on the project in conjunction with The Sharonville Federated Women's Club who will be making, assembling, and shipping the Christmas stocking.  Along with the stocking, all students will be making a Christmas card for a soldier.  The following is a list of some of the simple items we need to FILL the stocking:

FOOD: mints, Tic-tacs, small candy bars, chewing gum, gummy anything, beef jerky, Slim Jims, packaged snacks (nuts, crackers, cookies, Pringles, fruit snacks, etc)

GAMES: travel-size games, card games, game books, Mini Frisbees, pencils, pens,

Yo-yo's, small balls, etc

PERSONAL ITEMS: small hand sanitizer, Kleenex, travel toothpaste, shampoo,

Chap Stick

Thanksgiving Food Baskets:

Each fall for over forty years, we have sponsored a Thanksgiving food collection for local needy families.  Our goal this year is enough for at least 25 families.  Each grade has been assigned an item(s) to bring in by Friday, November 21, 2008.

We are also gratefully accepting any donation of turkeys (12-15 lbs.). If frozen, they may be brought to school by Friday as well.  Please inform us by phone or note by Wednesday, November 19, if you plan to donate a turkey so that we can get an accurate count or purchase any extras to meet our quota.

The fifth and sixth grades are providing milk, eggs and butter.  These perishable items should not be brought in until Monday, November 24, 2008, which is the pick-up day.  Please bring all items in the morning as pick-up happens during the school day.

CCD generously supports our project by donating miscellaneous staples or special items.
