JUNIOR HIGH DANCE:  I apologize for the mistake in last week’s Newsletter—the Junior High Dance was last Friday, September 28 (not tonight, Friday, October 5, as printed in the Newsletter).   We hope you all had a good time.

CONFERENCES:  If you requested a conference with your child’s homeroom teacher, your appointment confirmation is coming home with your youngest child today.  Please be prompt on your appointment day (either Tuesday, October 16, or Thursday, October 18, as noted on your confirmation paper).

HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAM PREP CLASS:  Parents of eighth graders taking the Prep Class—please note that this week’s class (on Tuesday, October 9) goes until 5 p.m., as will the class on Tuesday, October 23.  This later dismissal on these two Tuesdays is to make up for not having class on October 16, when we have a 1:15 p.m. early dismissal.

BUS SERVICE:  The following districts will provide transportation home at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16:  First Student, Princeton, and the Blue Ash YMCA van.  Students who normally go home on Kings, Lakota, Mason, or Sycamore buses must find alternate transportation on the 16th, as these districts cannot provide rides home at that time.

FALL SCHOOL PICTURES:  Today every child is bringing home an order form for Lifetouch Fall school pictures.  Please complete the order form and send it back to school with your child on or before picture day, which is Thursday, October 18.  Your child must have an order to hand to the photographer if you want a portrait package made up for him.  If your child is absent on October 18, retake day will be on Monday, November 19.

PTO:  Please plan to attend our upcoming PTO meeting on Tuesday, October 9, at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Parish Center.  Major topics to be discussed include an update on the librarian position, Entertainment Book sales, by-laws update, the Scholastic Book Fair, the skating party, and the progressive dinner.  We will also begin the process of goal setting for the upcoming year.  Remember—you must be present to give input to our goals and to vote.  Babysitting will be available.  See you there!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR:  The Scholastic Book Fair will take place the week of October 14.  Students will shop the Book Fair during the week.  Parents are invited to join them or may shop after all Masses on Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21.  We will also be open during evening conference times on Tuesday, October 16, and Thursday, October 18.  Proceeds from this Book Fair will be used to improve the library program and to purchase teacher-requested books for classrooms.  For more information, contact Sandy Mitsch (791-4889) or Debbie Stroh (563-2887).

CAMPBELL’S WINNERS:  Congratulations to Joey Fortner (1-P), Kirsten Lucas (4-D), Brett Elmlinger and Sam Miller (4-T), Kristen Sutor (6-G), and Sam Wallander (8-H).  These are our September winners for out-of-uniform passes.  Send in your UPCs, and you may win next month!  Please send in only eligible UPCs and write your child’s name and homeroom on the back.  Only clipped soup UPCs will be entered in the contest.  Please call Sandy Mitsch (791-4889) with questions.

OLSH PARISH DIRECTORY:  Don’t forget to sign up for your family portrait to be included in the OLSH Parish Directory.  Go on the OLSH website to reserve a portrait time (www.olshschool.net, then click on the link) or sign up after all Masses.  Contact Alison O’Neill at alisononeill@fuse.net if you have questions.
