RESPONSIBILITY:  Parents—in line with our policy of not allowing the children back into the building after school to get forgotten items/homework from their classrooms, please talk with your children about making calls home once they get to school to request that you bring up an item they left at home.  Our goal is to raise students who are responsible for themselves and who come to school prepared for the day.  Thank you.

HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAM PREP CLASS:  Eighth graders—remember that the deadline to register for the after-school program to prepare you to take the High School Entrance Exam is this Monday, September 10.  Please return your registration form with payment made out to Mrs. Sylvia Steltenpohl to the school office by Monday.  The class will start on Tuesday, September 18.

PTO MEETING:  Please plan to attend the first PTO meeting of the 2007-2008 school year on Tuesday, September 11, at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Parish Center.  Major topics to be discussed will include our major Fall Fundraiser, an update on the librarian position, Entertainment Book sales, the upcoming Spaghetti Dinner, a review of the PTO by-laws, PTO goal setting, and the possibility of a progressive dinner as a new fundraiser.  Remember—you must be present to give input to our goals and to vote.  Babysitting will be available.  See you there!

GIRL SCOUTS:  It’s time for Girl Scout signups!  If you were a Girl Scout last year, contact your leader to sign up again.  If you are brand new to Girl Scouting or haven’t been a Girl Scout for a while, plan to come to one of the locations listed on the flyer coming home today.  We are always looking for adult volunteers, too!  If you have any questions or need more information, please call Diane Brown at 563-7717.

JUVENILE DIABETES WALK:  There will be a walk held on Saturday, September 29, at Kings Island to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes research.  If you’re interested, go to www.jdrf.org or contact Heather Von Lehmden at 733-3337 for more information.

FUN2BFIT:  The Blue Ash YMCA is starting a Fun2BFit weight management program.  This is a new group intervention program for overweight youth ages 8 through 13 and their families.  The 12-month program is designed to conveniently meet the needs of overweight children and their families in their own community.  The program emphasizes the use of behavioral skills to help establish healthier eating patterns and a more physically active lifestyle within a supportive family environment.  There are information sessions planned for this Saturday, September 8, at 1:30 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 11, at 7 p.m., both at the Blue Ash YMCA.  Call Amanda Gier, Wellness Director, at 791-5000, ext. 2639, for more information.
