MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT: We hope you all had a chance to visit your child’s classroom and meet his/her teacher on Thursday evening. We appreciate that you took time out of your busy schedules to find out more about the curriculum at OLSH. Let us also thank you in advance if you were able to sign up for any of the volunteer opportunities available here at OLSH.
HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAM PREP CLASS: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School has been fortunate to offer a class for eighth graders who will be taking the High School Entrance Exam to help them prepare for this test. We are offering it again this year. The class will be held on eight consecutive Tuesdays beginning September 18 and ending on November 6, about one and one-half weeks before the Entrance Exam is administered on November 17. Parents of eighth graders—please check with your child for the registration form coming home today. It is due back in the OLSH school office NO LATER THAN MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10. Please note that checks should be made payable to Mrs. Sylvia Steltenpohl, one of the instructors of the class. Call the school office (733-5225) if your child did not bring home a form.
SERVERS: Parents of current sixth, seventh, and eighth graders—check with your child for a signup form coming home today and due back on Tuesday, September 4. Please encourage your children to learn how to serve Mass—it’s a great way for them to start being active in their parish.
PTO FALL FUNDRAISER: Have your Magazine/Kids Are First orders ready to hand in as you walk into school on September 6, 10, and 13. Please include the orders (white and yellow copies) and cash or check made out to OLSH PTO. The orders should be in an envelope with your name, homeroom, and the dollar amount sold written clearly on the outside. You will immediately receive your Turn-in Day prize based on the dollar amount shown on the envelope. (Prizes for the Money Wheel, Money Machine, Chicken Run, and Cash Box will be awarded on September 27.) When you sell a magazine order, give the pink copy to the customer. Please allow up to 14 week for delivery to start. If your subscription hasn’t started by then, you may call the 800 number on the back of the pink copy to check on it. When you sell Kids Are First products, the seller should keep the pink copy. You will need this to distribute the products when they come home from school on October 4. PTO—WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Thanks for your support. Contact Pam Kennedy at pendres@cinci.rr.com or 984-4597 with questions.
CAMPBELL’S LABELS FOR EDUCATION: The Labels for Education program is a great way to get FREE merchandise for our school. The program provides classroom accessories and physical education equipment through the collection and redemption process. Simply clip the eligible UPCs and drop them into one of the three bins located around our school (at the school, church, and cafeteria entrances). We will also have a monthly drawing for out-of-uniform passes. Include your child’s name and homeroom on the back of each UPC. Thanks so much for your support. Please feel free to call Sandy Mitsch at 791-4889 with any questions.
