SKATING PARTY:  We’re sorry we had to cancel the Skating Party at the last minute.  We have rescheduled it for Thursday, April 3.  A flyer will be sent home when we return from Easter break.

FISH FRY:  Join us for our last Fish Fry of this Lenten season tonight, March 14, in the Activity Center from 4:30 p.m. ‘til 7 p.m.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY DANCE:  YAC’s 8th annual St. Patrick’s Day Dance (adults only) will be held after the Fish Fry beginning at 9 p.m. in the Activity Center.  Tickets are $15 per couple or $8 for an individual.  Contact Ken Hoffman at 733-9380 for more information.

LOST AND FOUND:  Ms. Schafer will put out the laundered items from our Lost and Found this weekend in the cafeteria.  Please check after all Masses for any of your children’s long-lost clothing.  After this Sunday, all items that are in good shape will be put into our Uniform Exchange.

VARIETY SHOW:  You’re invited to join us this Sunday, March 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Activity Center for OLSH’s 4th Annual School Variety Show.  Come support and enjoy the artistic talents of our student instrumentalists, dancers, singers, comedians, technicians, etc.  For more information, contact Tamara Anderson at 733-3077 or email her at tanderson1@cinci.rr.com.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY:  Students are invited to wear green tops and socks with their school uniform pants/skirts/jumpers on Monday, March 17 in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

MARCH MADNESS:  To celebrate March Madness, students may wear to school on Wednesday, March 19, their favorite sports team shirt (preferably basketball) with their school uniform bottoms.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS/ALL-SCHOOL MASS CHANGES:  We had to switch the Stations around a little bit for Friday, March 14, and Monday, March 17.  Students from grade 6 will perform “Shadow Stations” in the Activity Center on Monday, March 17, at 1:30 p.m.     On Friday, March 14, the students participated in “Stations in the Round” beginning in church and progressing around the school hallways.  We apologize for the switch and hope you’re able to join us on Monday.  We will have our all-school Mass (normally held on Friday mornings) on Wednesday, March 19, at 8:15 a.m.  Our eighth graders will present “Living Stations” in the church on Holy Thursday, March 20, also at 1:30 p.m.  The “Living Stations” originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, had to be canceled.  We look forward to seeing as many parents as can make it to the “Living Stations” on Thursday, March 20.  Both the “Shadow Stations” and the “Living Stations” have been beautiful additions to our Lenten season for the past several years, and we’d like to invite you to be a part of both.

LENTEN RAFFLE:  The winners of this past week’s raffle items were:  Stefanie Schweikert (2-B)—inflatable chick in egg; Kaitlyn Fryman (4-T)—art items; Karly Fryman (1-P)—St. Patrick’s Day basket; Ryan Boothe (7-M)—iTune gift card; and Sydney Blum (4-T), Sam Miller (4-T), and Allison Vonderhaar (6-G)—out-of-uniform passes.  Congratulations!  Items on sale now to be raffled off next Tuesday during song practice are:  Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium DVD and Twizzlers candy, Easter decorations, a chocolate bunny, a craft basket, and out-of-uniform passes.  Tickets are 25 cents each or five for $1 and can be purchased every morning before school in Ms. Schafer’s homeroom.  The total amount of money collected to date from these raffles and money dropped into homeroom “Nica” jars is $786.10.  Thank you all.

PTO PROGRESSIVE DINNER:  Don’t miss out on your chance for an evening out with friends or meeting new people while enjoying good Italian food and yummy desserts.  The last day to turn in reservations for the PTO Progressive Dinner is this Thursday, March 20.  (Reservations can be sent to Susie Finan c/o Renee Finan in 3-P.)  The Progressive Dinner is Saturday, April 5; we must have final numbers by next week.  All proceeds benefit the OLSH Library Program.  Call Susie Finan (769-5980) if you need more information.

PTO BOARD NOMINATIONS:  Join the PTO Board.  We are currently looking for candidates for the PTO Board positions—President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.  Please consider joining this team of parents who work with the PTO membership to ensure the success of the fundraisers that support educational programs for our children and teachers.  If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Alison O’Neill at 769-4853.  Election of new officers will occur at the April PTO meeting.

PTO FUNDRAISER:  Please keep sending in those dingy kitchen towels.  To those who have already donated towels, thanks very much!  If every family sends in just one kitchen towel, we will earn $450!  For every usable kitchen towel you send in, we will be paid $2.  We will also receive a $100 bonus for each increment of 100 towels.  To be “usable”, the towel must be from a kitchen and must have been used to dry dishes.  It must be dingy white, which means it is not as white as it was when new.  It can be a plain white towel or a white towel with pattern.  Rags are NOT acceptable.  Send towels to school care of Tamara Anderson.  Thanks!
