FISH FRY:  Come to the Fish Fry tonight, when we will offer our “special of the day”—shrimp fettuccine—in addition to our regular fare of baked fish, hand-battered fish, shrimp, or pizza with sides of homemade macaroni and cheese or French fries, applesauce or cole slaw, a drink, and dessert.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME:  Be sure to set your clocks ahead one hour when you go to bed on Saturday night.  It’s hard to believe it’s already time to do this!

LOST AND FOUND:  Ms. Schafer took all the Lost and Found clothing to the Laundromat this past week and will have all these clean clothes displayed in the cafeteria this weekend (March 8 and 9).  Please stop by after Mass to see if you recognize any of your kids’ long-lost items!  Thanks, Ms. Schafer, for starting our school’s spring cleaning!

PTO:  Please join us on Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Parish Center.  A new budget for the 2008-2009 school year will be reviewed and discussed.  We need your input!  Babysitting will be provided.

GROUP PICTURES:  Lifetouch will be here on Wednesday, March 12, to take pictures of various organizations to be put in the Yearbook.  We ask that boys who played football for the Golden Bears bring their jerseys to school that day so that they can be photographed in them.

SKATING PARTY:  Come get an early start on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at OLSH’s Roller Skating Party to be held on Thursday, March 13, from 6 p.m. ‘til 8 p.m. at Skatetown USA in West Chester.  A detailed flyer is coming home today.  All students attending will have a chance to win a pot o’ gold!  We hope to see everyone there.

MAD SCIENCE:  Mad Science is offering an after-school program to all students in grades 1 through 6 for six weeks beginning on Monday, April 7.  A representative will be here next Friday, March 14, to present a “sneak preview” to our students.  Please see the registration form coming home today with your student in grades 1 through 6.

PARISH DIRECTORY:  Make-up dates for OLSH Parish Directory portraits have been scheduled for March 13, 14, and 15.  Make sure to have your family’s picture included in the Directory and receive your free 8x10 portrait and free Directory!  Signup sheets will be available after all Masses, or you can sign up on the OLSH School website, where there is a link for OLSH Directory portraits.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY DANCE:  YAC’s 8th annual St. Patrick’s Day Dance (adults only) will take place from 9 p.m. ‘til 1 a.m. (following the Fish Fry) on Friday, March 14, in the Activity Center.   A DJ will provide the music; the cost is $15 per couple or $8 for an individual.  For tickets, call any YAC Board member or contact Ken Hoffman at 733-9380 or at kdhoffman@fuse.net

PTO SURVEY:  We have been asked to participate in a laundry survey that will earn us money.  It’s so easy!  Simply send in to school any dingy kitchen towels that you no longer need.  J & R will pay us $2 for every usable kitchen towel we turn in.  We will receive a $100 bonus for each increment of 100 towels.  Anything they can’t use will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul.  To be “usable”, the towel must be from a kitchen and used to dry dishes.  It must be dingy white, which means it is not as white as when new.  It can be a plain white towel or a white towel with a pattern.  Rags are NOT acceptable.  See the flyer coming home today for more info.  Call Tamara Anderson (733-3077) with questions.

EMAIL ADDRESS CHANGE:  The correct email address for our school psychologist, Dr. Cheryl Czulewicz, is cheryl@czulewicz.com.

LENTEN RAFFLE:  The winners of this past week’s raffle items were:  Josh Wessinger (2-B) and Maddie Rinderle (5-S)—free ice cream or extras for hot lunch for one week; Graci Doll (4-D)—movie tickets and candy; Taylor House and Katie Rinderle (5-S)—lessons on the potter’s wheel; Maddie Rinderle (5-S)—one free piano lesson after school; and Nick Gray (K), Sydney Zeuch (4-T), Sam Sieder (5-S), Grace Kallenberg (7-E), and Elyse Spraul (7-M)—out-of-uniform passes.  Items on sale now to be raffled off next Tuesday, March 11, during song practice are:  inflatable chick in an egg, art items, a St. Patrick’s basket, an i-Tunes gift card ($15 value), and out-of-uniform passes.  Tickets are 25 cents each or five for $1 and can be bought any day before school in Ms. Schafer’s homeroom.  To date, students have brought in (either for raffle items or to put in homeroom Nicaragua jars) a total of $614.25.  Mrs. Jan Otten is very appreciative of our school community’s generous donations to be sent to the mission started by her sister in Batahola, Nicaragua.  We’ll let you know what our total is by the end of the Lenten season.

PTO PROGRESSIVE DINNER:  Looking forward to spending a fun evening with friends, enjoying some good Italian food and yummy desserts?  Don’t forget to send in those R.S.V.P.s for the BIG EVENT on Saturday, April 5.  The deadline for reservations is just two weeks away (March 21).  All proceeds benefit the library program.  Send all reservations to Susie Finan c/o Renee in 3-P.

OLSH SCHOOL VARIETY SHOW:  Mark your calendars—you are invited to attend a fun-filled evening of performances by our very own OLSH student community as they participate in OLSH’s fourth annual Variety Show.  The show will be held on Sunday, March 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Activity Center.  Come support and enjoy the artistic talents of our student instrumentalists, dancers, singers, comedians, technicians, etc.  You never know which one of these fine performers might be walking the likes of the red carpet one day!  For more information, please contact Tamara Anderson at 733-3077 or email her at tanderson1@cinci.rr.com.
