FISH FRY FRIDAYS:  Gather your family and join with friends in the OLSH Activity Center for our first Fish Fry of this Lenten season tonight, February 29.  We offer baked fish, hand-battered fish, shrimp, or pizza with sides of homemade macaroni and cheese or French fries, applesauce or cole slaw, plus a drink and dessert.  Prices are $7 for an adult dinner and $4 for a kid’s meal.  Carryout is available by calling 733-0614.

CONFIRMATION:  Please remember our eighth graders and those in CCD who will make their Confirmation next Tuesday, March 4.  They have all worked very hard to prepare for this big step in their religious lives.

LENTEN RAFFLE:  The winners of this past week’s raffle items were:  Adam Garbacik (5-S)—Blockbuster gift basket; Jonathan Schworer (7-E)—candy basket; Sami Mehbod (6-O)—big stuffed dog; Emma Falci (1-P), Kristen Elmlinger (3-P), and Hunter Cromer (3-P)—ice cream party; and Cam Tuttle (2-B), Gabby Orr (3-P), and Patrick Benson (7-M)—out-of-uniform passes.    Items to be raffled off next Tuesday, March 4, during song practice include:  free ice cream or extras for hot lunch for one week (4 winners chosen); movie tickets; lessons on the potter’s wheel (2 winners chosen); one free piano lesson after school; and out-of-uniform passes.  Tickets are 25 cents each or five for $1 and can be bought any morning before school in Ms. Schafer’s homeroom.  Remember to send in any spare change for the homeroom Nicaragua jars.  We appreciate your generosity!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT PICTURES:  Mrs. Raine is looking for pictures taken during the Christmas Concert, especially pictures of students in grades 3 through 8.  Please send any pictures you may have taken to the school office.  Include your name if you would like to have the pictures returned to you.  Thanks!

MARKET DAY:  Thank you to the moms and students who helped with the postponed Market Day this past Monday.  Order forms for March are coming home in your child’s blue Friday folder today.  We thank you for ordering.  So far, $3187.03 has been earned this year.  This amount reflects the amount before any deductions are taken.  (Deductions include stamps and envelopes for mailing of the forms, snacks for student helpers, and door prizes for PTO meetings.)  We are still looking for someone to take over as chairperson of Market Day for the 2008-2009 school year.  Mrs. Adelmann, Mrs. High, Mrs. Schworer, and Mrs. Schoenberger will step down after the June sale.  Market Day sales generate money given to PTO; one of the ways PTO uses these funds is to help defray the cost of field trip buses.  Three friends can easily step in to run this profitable fundraiser for OLSH.  Please notify the school office if you would like to “shadow” the current volunteers so that you can take over this summer.  It’s a minimum amount of work for a sizable profit for our school.  Please consider it!

OLSH PARISH DIRECTORY:  Make-up dates for OLSH Parish Directory portraits have been scheduled for March 13, 14, and 15.  Make sure to have your family’s picture included in the Directory and receive your free 8x10 portrait and free Directory!  Signup sheets will be available after all Masses; or you can sign up on the OLSH School website, where there is a link for OLSH Directory portraits.

YEARBOOKS:  There are a few extra 2006-2007 Yearbooks available for $16 each.  Contact Alison O’Neill at alisononeill@fuse.net if you’d like a copy.

ART ACADEMY CAMP:  The Art Academy of Cincinnati is offering Camp Art Academy for children between the ages of 5 and 12.  Instruction is being offered by professional artists and art educators.  The camp offers six separate one-week sessions from June through July.  For more information, call 562-8748 or go to www.artacademy.edu/CE_CampAAC.html.
