PAUSE (PAWS) FOR PRAISE:  Mrs. Baker would like to recognize seventh grader Daniel Gates for helping her when she needed him.  Thanks, Daniel.

PARISH MINISTRY FAIR:  Plan to stop by the Activity Center this weekend after all Masses to check out all the volunteer opportunities available through Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish.  We have a number of dedicated and selfless men and women who graciously donate their time to a number of needed and worthwhile activities here in our Parish.  There will be representatives from over 30 organizations on hand to answer all your questions and to invite you to join them in their fellowship.  Your talents can be put to great use by joining the group(s) that appeals to you.  Your talents are a gift from God--use your talents to share your gift.  Make a difference!

ALL-SCHOOL FIELD TRIP:  The field trip to Ss. Peter and Paul School that was originally scheduled for February 27 has been rescheduled for this coming Tuesday, March 27.  All students will be transported to SPPS by bus to listen to the drug-free message of the band Most Wanted.  All students must have turned in a permission slip in order to go on this field trip.

SPRING ROLLER SKATING PARTY:  Bring the family out for an evening of fun at OLSH’s spring roller skating party to be held next Thursday, March 29, from 6 p.m. ‘til 8 p.m. at Skatetown USA.   A flier with the directions and a permission slip (needed only if a parent is not accompanying his child) is coming home today in your child’s weekly packet.  Join your fellow OLSH classmates and “skate into spring”.

WORD POWER CHALLENGE:  We congratulate Hallie Sansbury who, as a sixth grader, represented OLSH in the Reader’s Digest National Word Power Challenge this past Monday in Columbus.  Hallie was the youngest participant in her individual group of about 20 students in this State Championship event.  Hallie was not the state champion, but she is certainly a winner in our eyes!

YEARBOOK:  2006-07 Yearbook order forms are coming today with your youngest.  Please look for them.  Order forms and payment are to be returned to the school office no later than Holy Thursday, April 5 (the day before Easter break starts).  Please call Alison O’Neill at 769-4853 with any questions.

LENTEN RAFFLE:  Congratulations to this week’s raffle winners—Noah Armstrong (Easter bunny); Gabby Orr (Paw-O-Graph blanket); Kelly Robinson (Easter bucket filled with goodies); Katie Stautberg, Dan Vidourek, and Elizabeth Stevenson (Sports Fun); Ashley Peter, Stephanie Lyons, Kristen Elmlinger, and Maddie Torbeck (out-of-uniform passes); and Holly Carota ($20 gift card to Blockbuster).  This Thursday, March 29, your child can pay 50 cents to wear his/her favorite high school or college team t-shirt or sweatshirt with his/her OLSH uniform pants/skirt.   Just bring 50 cents in to your homeroom teacher on Thursday.   Please check with your child for a list of the upcoming week’s raffle items.  Tickets can be bought before school any day in Ms. Schafer’s homeroom for 25 cents each or five for $1.  So far, we have collected $814 to donate to Nicaragua through raffle chances and donations.  Thank you!

FISH FRY:  Join us at the Fish Fry tonight (March 23) and next Friday (March 30).  The special for tonight is crab cakes, and next Friday’s special will be mozzarella breadsticks.  Dinners for adults cost $7; kids’ meals are $4.

READING LITTER CLEAN-UP DAY:  This year’s Reading Litter Clean-up Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 28.  Get a group together or show up by yourself and join with others as they clean up the city of Reading.  Call Carol Bullock-Carpenter at 733-4857 to let her know that you want to participate.
