KUDOS:  Congratulations to eighth grader Kevin Bishop, who has been awarded a Summit Country Day School scholarship to be used for his high school studies.  He will be honored at a reception to be held on Wednesday, March 28, in the chapel at The Summit.  Way to go, Kevin!

LENTEN RAFFLE:  We are pleased to announce that we have so far collected a total of $626 to be donated to Nicaragua.  We thank you for your generosity!  Congratulations to this week’s raffle winners—Grace Rohs (St. Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold); Lily Beck (“Movie Night Tub”); Elyse Spraul (free recess in the gym with three of her friends); Stefanie Schweikert (ice cream party with two of her friends); Darcie Gorsuch, Will Flavin, Taylor House, David Spraul, and Chad Crable (out-of-uniform passes); and Colleen Armstrong and Ethan Nye (Buddy Cards).  Please see the flyer coming home today with your child for a listing of next week’s raffle items.  Raffle tickets are available every morning before school in Ms. Schafer’s homeroom.

BINGO/PRAYER NIGHT:  Bring your family to school next Thursday, March 22, as we celebrate a special evening beginning at 7 p.m. with a prayer service in church.  We will then gather in the Community Room for Bingo.  Snacks will be provided.  Look for the flyer coming home today and return the bottom portion to school by next Tuesday, March 20, so that we can plan for the number of attendees.  It’s a fun night for everyone!

SHADOW STATIONS:  You are all invited to join us at 1:30 p.m. next Friday, March 23, as we gather in the Activity Center for a special “Shadow Stations” presentation by our sixth graders.  It’s been a beautiful addition to the Lenten season for the past several years.

PARISH MINISTRY FAIR:  Various helpers (parents and students) are needed to work at the upcoming OLSH Parish Ministry Fair taking place after all Masses on March 24 and March 25.  Jobs include greeting parishioners, serving snacks (on Saturday) and donuts (on Sunday), etc.  Please contact Michelle Nurre at 755-3830 if you are available to help.  Reminder—setup will take place on Saturday, March 24, from 1 p.m. ‘til 5 p.m.

KIDS CLUB WRESTLERS:  Congratulations to our two Moeller Kids Club wrestlers Ryan Gordon (grade 5) and Tony Doll (grade 6).  On Sunday, February 25, both boys wrestled in the District competition for the chance to go to the Ohio Grade School Wrestling State Championships in Cleveland.  Ryan placed third in his bracket at 70 lbs., and Tony placed second in his bracket at 80 lbs.; these wins earned them both the right to wrestle in the Ohio State Championships on March 17 and 18.  They also helped their Moeller Kids Club team take first place in the competition, winning the Southwest District.  Way to go, boys!  Good luck in Cleveland!

SKATE INTO SPRING:  Mark your calendars to join us for an evening of fun with family and friends at OLSH’s spring roller skating party.  The event will be held at Skatetown USA in West Chester on Thursday, March 29, from 6 p.m. ‘til 8 p.m.  Look for a flyer with further information in next Friday’s packet.  Hope to see everyone there!

WEBSITE CONCERN:  Parents of intermediate and junior high students—I urge you to check out the websites on which your children may be posting information.  One of the most familiar ones is www.myspace.com.  Although this website requires that a person be 18 years old, much younger children are posting information on it.  Please check it out to see if your child is there.   –Mrs. Adelmann
