DAY—NO SCHOOL
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: We had a wonderful time here at OLSH as we
celebrated Catholic Schools Week beginning January 29 and ending with our Open
House on February 4. Many people had a
hand in making this week so successful, and the week was filled with activities
that were enjoyed by all. In particular,
the teachers and staff would like to thank Mrs. Gina Vonderhaar
and the moms who helped her provide a delicious and much appreciated luncheon
on Thursday. We hope you all had a
chance to stop by during Open House. We
are very proud of our students and our school!
PAUSE (PAWS) FOR PRAISE: Mrs. Guye would
like to recognize sixth grader Jonathan Schworer for
his extra help connected with Catholic Schools Week (into the wee hours of the
night!). Thanks, Jonathan!
HOTLINE:
Tuesday’s Hot Line was activated only as a courtesy. You should not expect a call unless you
indicated on the Emergency Plan for Early Dismissal that you filled out at the
beginning of the school year that a call was necessary. Channels 5 and 9 in addition to our website
advised you of the early dismissal. The
rude calls to the Hot Line coordinator were
unacceptable. –Mrs. Adelmann
POWER OF THE PEN TOURNAMENT: Good luck to the 14 seventh and eighth
graders who will be participating in the Power of the Pen Tournament to be held
this Saturday at Little Miami Junior High School. These students have been working for the last
month with eighth-grade Language Arts teacher Mr. Riehle
to prepare for this writing competition. We’ll keep you advised about how they
did!
FIRST RECONCILIATION: OLSH second graders will celebrate “Together
Tuesday” on February 13. They will join
OLSH second grade CCD students as they prepare to receive the sacrament of First
Reconciliation on Wednesday, February 14.
Please keep them in your prayers.
CYCLONES PERFORMANCE: OLSH fifth graders will sing our National
Anthem before the start of the Cyclones game on Friday, February 16 at the U.S.
Bank Arena. What an honor! Good luck to them.
MARKET DAY: Don’t forget to place your order for February
and help your school earn extra profit with Cookie Dough Bonus Days! We earn
extra profit on each box of Cookie Dough sold. Cookie Dough is now packaged in
individual portions (no more hard-to-scoop tubs!) and comes in 9 flavors with 0
grams trans fat.
Orders may be returned through school or placed online at www.marketday.com
