PAWS (PAUSE) FOR PRAISE:  Mrs. Raine would like to thank the following eighth graders for helping her take down her October decorations on Halloween:  Paul Anderson, Nick Curry, Will Flavin, and Kyle Mahoney.

BOOK FAIR:  The Scholastic Book Fair is next week!  Students will shop the Book Fair during their regular library times.  Parents are invited to join them or shop after Masses this Saturday and Sunday (November 11 and 12), next Saturday and Sunday (November 18 and 19), and also on Wednesday, November 15, during conference hours.  Look for a letter and a flier coming home with students today.  Remember—the Book Fair will take place in the school library.  Hope to see you there!

VETERANS HONORED:  The fifth graders would like to invite all of our parents to join them as they and Music teacher Mrs. Cheryl Raine present a musical salute to all veterans (and especially those from the OLSH community).  The program will be presented in the Community Room on Tuesday, November 14, immediately following the 8:15 a.m. Mass.

FALL PICTURES:  We hope you are all happy with your child’s photos that were sent home last week.  If your child was absent on our original picture day (October 12), he forgot his portrait money on that day, or you wish to purchase additional portraits, please call the school office to have another order envelope sent home.  Retake day is Monday, November 20.   If you are unhappy with your child’s pictures taken on October 12 and would like a retake, please be sure to return the original portrait package with him on November 20 so that an identical package can be printed using his retake portrait.

ProKids SERVICE PROJECT:  We are still accepting donations suitable for teenaged boys and girls served by ProKids.  These can be dropped off in the large red box at the school entrance anytime up ‘til December 3.

THANKSGIVING BASKETS:  Remember to send in items for this service project, also.  So far, we have had seven turkeys promised to put in these baskets; but we have committed to filling up 20 baskets, so we do still need turkeys!  Call the school office if you can donate one.

WE CERTAINLY APPRECIATE THE GENEROSITY OF OUR SCHOOL AND PARISH FAMILIES

AS WE FILL THE REQUESTS AND NEEDS OF OUR LARGER COMMUNITY.

SANTA SHOP:  Please continue to send in items for our Santa Shop to be held on Thursday and Friday, December 7 and 8.  Donations can be sent in with your children and dropped off in the school office.

SCRIP:  Scrip gift certificates will be sold this weekend and every weekend until Christmas.  The certificates will be sold after the weekend Masses.  See the flier coming home today with your youngest child.  Start your Christmas shopping now.  We can obtain certificates to over 500 retailers; so with Scrip, you have to shop only once and make only one stop.  WE NEED SCRIP VOLUNTEERS!  Please contact Lori Stroehlein (984-9313) if you can help sell gift certificates after the weekend Masses.  Thank you!

HIGH SCHOOL B-BALL:  OLSH graduates—The last chance to sign up for high school boys’ basketball will be this Sunday, November 12, at 7 p.m. in the Tiger Room of the Activity Center.  Contact Jim Kandil (KandilClan@aol.com) for further information or with questions.
