EARLY DISMISSALS:
The following school districts will provide transportation home on
Thursday, June 1, at
MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL: Parents—remember to stop by the office
between now and the last day of school (maybe after Mass on June 2?) to pick up
any medications you may have sent in during the school year for your child. We cannot keep meds from one year to the next
and will dispose of any that are left here after June 2.
PAUSE (PAWS) FOR PRAISE: Mrs. O’Brien nominates Austin Brown (1-O) for
his extra helpfulness; Mrs. Rohlfs nominates Kelley
Peter (2-R) for helping her out after school; and Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Rohlfs recognize Jacob Vanover
for his unselfish actions.
Congratulations to these boys.
SPRING CHOIR CONCERT: The final rehearsal for the Spring Choir will
be next Tuesday, May 30, from
SPIRIT DAY:
Students should dress for Spirit Day (next Thursday, June 1) in their
gym uniform shorts and a t-shirt (either one ordered through school or one you
already have at home) in their homeroom color (1O—purple; 2P—aqua; 2R—light
blue; 3P—orange sherbet; 4D—yellow; 4T—lime green; 5B—stonewashed blue;
5S—stonewashed green; 6G—pink; 6O—violet; 7H—sangria; and 7W—cardinal). Spirit Day lunch envelopes should be returned
no later than Tuesday, May 30.
END-OF-YEAR SURVEY:
Don’t forget to check teachers’ class web pages and the Principal’s Page
(under “School Info”) for surveys which parents may complete. These surveys will remain on our website for
one month.
MATH WEBSITES:
Parents—watch the OLSH website computer page for links to Math sites for
your children to use over the summer.
There are sites for all grade levels.
They will be posted beginning the week of June 5 and will be continually
updated throughout the summer. DON’T
LOSE THOSE MATH SKILLS YOU WORKED SO HARD TO ACHIEVE ALL SCHOOL YEAR!
“BUSY AS BEES” SUMMER PROGRAM: Parents of children currently in kindergarten
through grade 3 may still register them in Mrs. Rohlfs’
and Mrs. Baker’s “Busy As Bees” programs being offered
in July. “Bee a Chef” will take place on
July 11, 12, and 13; “Bee a Toymaker” will take place on
July 18, 19, and 20. Fill out the
registration form that was sent home last week or call the school office to
have one sent home with your child on Tuesday so that you can fill it out and
return it before the last day of school.
SUMMER TUTORING:
Mrs. Mary Jo Eggenberger, former teacher’s
aide here at OLSH and current long-term sub for Mrs. Jody Pelzel,
is offering summer tutoring for students entering grades 1 through 6. If you think your child would benefit from
Mrs. Eggenberger’s help, please call her at home
after
FESTIVAL NEWS:
Continue to send in your items for the Grocery Booth (chaired by Lisa
McCabe—755-0893) and the Basket Booth (chaired by Sue Kettler—769-4583). You may send them in with your children to
school through next Friday. In addition, the Bid ‘n Buy Booth is looking for both items and
volunteers. We currently have
about 50 items already donated and would like to have at least 200 by festival
time! Some suggestions: gift certificates to stores/restaurants;
tickets to sporting events or movies/plays; sports apparel (high school,
college, or pro); golf accessories; handmade items; antiques; even time shares
(if you’re lucky enough to own a vacation home!). You may send all donated items in to
school. If you have questions or would
like to volunteer in this always FUN booth, call Julie Gorsuch
at 733-5853.
THERE WILL
BE NO HOT LUNCH NEXT WEEK.
PLEASE
SEND A PACKED LUNCH WITH YOUR CHILD ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY
(AND ON
THURSDAY, IF YOU DID NOT ORDER A PIZZA LUNCH FOR YOUR CHILD FOR SPIRIT DAY).
