CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: We hope your children enjoyed Catholic
Schools Week. We know
we all did. Thanks to Mrs. Angela Guye and Mrs. Wendy Schworer for
all their creative work in heading up the CSW committee and to all the teachers
for their support and special activities done in their individual
classrooms. It was truly a celebration
of all that is good in Catholic schools!
THANK YOU:
A huge “thank you” to Gina Vonderhaar and her
“crew” of moms who set up, served, and cleaned up a delicious luncheon for
teachers and staff last Tuesday (January 31) during Catholic Schools Week. It was beautifully presented, graciously
served, and much appreciated by all who were lucky enough to attend. We thank you all.
PAWS (PAUSE) FOR PRAISE: Recognition goes out to the following
students for their exemplary Christian behavior recently—to Nate
Wilkens (1-O) for his excellent help without being
asked at Open House on February 5; to Elizabeth Guye
(5-S) for her cheerful cooperation and helpfulness; to Chase Craven (8-S) for
his kindness and patience with his first grade buddy; and to Nate Winhusen (8-S) for being
extra respectful. A special recognition
to the young man who held the door for Mrs. Radcliff on Thursday, February
9—you know who you are even if we don’t.
We appreciate your good attitudes!
MEDS REMINDER:
Parents, we’d like to remind you not to send medication to school with
your child. You must have on file a
“Request for the Administration of Medication” form for both prescription and
over-the-counter medicines, and all meds are held in the school office. A teacher recently found some cold medication
on the floor of her classroom—this could be dangerous in the wrong hands. Please call the school office if you need one
of these forms. Thank you.
POWER OF THE PEN:
Selected seventh and eighth graders from OLSH will participate in a
day-long writing competition to be held this Saturday, February 11, at Little
Miami Junior High. Students were
selected to participate in this district competition based on the quality of writings
done in Mrs. Creighton’s English class; winners at this level will advance to
the regional contest to be held on April 8 at Sycamore Junior High. Good luck to seventh graders Patrick Bennett,
Holly Gruber, Molly Hildebrandt, Kiki
Isaac, Nick Kallenberg, and Andi
Zaferes; and eighth graders Jonathan Brandstetter, Craig Gorsuch,
Missy Gottschlich, Ashley Hollingsworth, Hannah Vogt, and Christina Vuotto. We’ll keep you posted on their success.
READING HIGH SCHOOL VISIT: Ronda Eisenhard,
Reading Jr.-Sr. High School Counselor, will be at OLSH
on Tuesday, February 14, at 11:30 a.m. (during lunch/recess) to speak to eighth
graders interested in attending Reading High School next year.
TOGETHER TUESDAY:
OLSH second graders will celebrate “Together Tuesday” on February 14
from
PASSPORT NIGHT:
Get ready to travel around the world during OLSH’s
“Passport Night” to be held on Thursday, March 9. Please check your child’s weekly envelope

library. If you are unable to complete
the review for any reason, please return the book so that it may be
reassigned. Any questions can be
