CHRISTMAS APPAREL:  Students will be permitted to add Christmas apparel to their regular uniform jumpers/skirts/pants on Tuesday, December 20.  Appropriate sweaters, sweatshirts, turtlenecks, socks, scarves, hair ornaments, and hats with a Christmas theme or color will be allowed.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT:  Plan to join us on Tuesday, December 20, at 9:30 a.m. for our Christmas concert under the direction of Mrs. Gina Rieman.  It promises to be a wonderful addition to your Christmas season.

SCHOOL NEWSPAPER:  OLSH has a new school newspaper called PawPrints.  Our first issue will be published next week.  The Newspaper Club will be selling the paper for 5 cents on Monday, December 19, and Tuesday, December 20.  We will be selling before school and during lunch.  As a bonus to parents, someone will also be selling from the sidewalk during morning drop-off.  So have those nickels ready!

CAFETERIA CHRISTMAS TREE:  We thank everyone who donated hats, mittens, scarves, and socks to our Christmas tree in the cafeteria.   We appreciate the continued generosity of our OLSH family.

PAWS FOR PRAISE:  Congratulations to our “Paws for Praise” nominees for December: Robert Anderson, Sydney Blum, Jonathan Brandstetter, Jonathan Brus, Craig Gorsuch, Missy Gottschlich, Dakota Handorf, Nathan Mechley, Hallie Sansbury, Kathryn Vidourek, Hannah Vogt,

and Nathan Winhusen.  Our apologies to Sam Ficke, who was left off the list for November.  Congratulations to these students for setting examples of good Christian behavior.

BOOKS FOR NEW ORLEANS:  Paul Curry (uncle of Nick, Evan, and Lauren) sends us his thanks for all the books our students donated during Right to Read Week.  Mr. Curry teaches at Joshua Butler Elementary School in New Orleans, which was devastated in the hurricane this past fall.  Their school reopened a few weeks ago, and the students are extremely grateful for the gift of these books.   A huge thanks to the Kuechly family for covering the cost of shipping these books to New Orleans.

PTO AGENDA:  The next PTO meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Parish Center.  The deadline for agenda items to make print will be Wednesday, January 4.  Please forward all requests through the school office (marked “PTO mail”), by email (boomer473@aol.com), or by calling Jamie at 554-4411 by the evening of January 4.  Wishing you and your family a safe and happy holiday from the PTO Board!

VARIETY SHOW:  Save this date—Friday, March 10—for the second annual OLSH Variety Show.  Tryout dates will be announced in January.  Get your act(s) together over the holidays!

EIGHTH GRADE DAY:  Parents of eighth graders—please look for a flyer coming home the week of January 3 with information about this event at Moeller and Mt. Notre Dame on Friday, January 6.
