CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK:  We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week beginning Monday, January 31.  We have a full week of activities, which are outlined in information coming home today with your youngest.  The week will end on Sunday, February 6 with an Open House from 9 a.m. 'til noon. Teachers will be in their classrooms with planned activities and/or to answer any questions visitors may have.   Please spread the word about our Open House among your neighbors and friends who may be "on the fence" about school plans for their children for 2005-06 or who may just be curious about all OLSH has to offer.

AWARDS:  The following students have achieved the Award of Distinction from Moeller High School, based on their entrance test results (at or above the 91st percentile):  Chris Champlin, Eric Gammarino, Mark Gottschlich, Brian Mitchell, Andrew Mulderig, Joe Nurre, and Joe Wernke.  These boys were honored at Moeller's Award of Distinction Program on Wednesday, January 26.  Congratulations to these deserving students.

TSUNAMI DONATION:  We sent a total donation of $2,555.50 to Catholic Relief Services for the tsunami emergency.  Thank you to all the families, students, and staff who contributed in this time of need.  Generosity is certainly a quality of the OLSH community.  We will accept any donations that you may still like to make and will send those on to Catholic Relief Services.

UNIFORM EXCHANGE:  The uniform exchange will be available on Monday, January 31 in the upper level of the Parish Center from 6 p.m. 'til 7:30 p.m.  Please contact Lisa Waitkus (733-3658) if you have questions.

CAMPBELL'S LABELS:  Please help us earn 250 bonus labels when you shop at Kroger by following three simple steps.  Purchase ten Campbell's and Pepperidge Farm products between January 9 and February 9, 2005 with your shopper card.  You'll receive a "250 Campbell's Labels for Education Bonus Label Certificate" right on your register receipt when you shop between February 14 and March 12, 2005.  Bring your Bonus Label Certificate to OLSH and drop it in the Campbell's collection bins.  Our school redeems labels for FREE educational and athletic equipment from Campbell's Labels for Education.  We thank you for your support!

KNIGHTS OF ST. JOHN SCHOLARSHIP:  A reminder that all paperwork for the Knights of St. John scholarship must be turned in to the scholarship office no later than next Friday, February 4.  If you have given recommendation forms to teachers or staff here at OLSH, we will take care of mailing them in before that due date.  Any other required paperwork must be mailed directly to the address listed in the application literature.

MONTE CARLO:  Just one week to go before the 22nd Annual Men's Club Monte Carlo!  The festivities begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 5 at the OLSH Activity Center.  This year's event will once again offer plenty of fun, games, food, and beverages for anyone at least 21 years old.  There will be a $5 donation at the door, but a Reverse Raffle ticket will get you in for free.  (Reverse Raffle tickets are still available before and after each Mass this weekend.).  A total of 500 tickets must be sold, and there are almost 100 left to sell.  Tickets are $25, a total of $4000 in prize money will be given away, and the Grand Prize is $2500!  All proceeds from the Monte Carlo and Reverse Raffle ticket sale directly benefit the OLSH School Computer Program and facility.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY DANCE:  Mark your calendars for YAC's 5th Annual St. Patrick's Day Dance to be held on March 12 from 8 p.m. 'til 1 a.m. with music by The Remains.  Look for ticket information coming home soon.

PSAS FORMS:  Please call the school office (733-5225) if you would like us to send home a Private School Aid Service application for student financial aid for next year.  The postmark deadline for the application is April 1, 2005.

YEARBOOK:  Please send any photos you have for the yearbook to Alison O'Neill (c/o Ellen O'Neill, 4-T).  Photos cannot be returned.  Contact Alison at 769-4853 with any questions.
