The dinner will be held in the Activity Center from 4 p.m. 'til 7 p.m. and will include: a salad, spaghetti or pizza, garlic bread, a drink, and a dessert for the low price of just $5 for adults and children age 13 and over, $4.50 for seniors and children from 6 to 12 years of age, and $2.50 for children between the ages of 3 and 5. (Children 2 years old and younger eat FREE!) Carryout is available by calling 733-0614. Please contact Julie Curry at 769-9106 if you have questions or would like to help out in any way.
ENTERTAINMENT 2005 BOOKS: All checks and/or books must be turned in to school by this coming Tuesday, October 12.
MAGAZINE DRIVE UPDATE: Next Wednesday, October 13, we will award the Treasure Chest, Money Machine, Cash Box, and Wheel of Fortune prizes at lunch to those who are eligible. WE NEED A FEW PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO HELP IN THE ACTIVITY CENTER FROM 10:30 a.m. 'TIL 12:30 p.m. Please call Jana Sansbury (769-4621) or Vicki Koppenhafer (769-4318) if you can help. Also, please note that the Kids Are First products were delivered to the students this past Wednesday (October 6). If you did not receive them or if there is a problem, please let us know. Thanks!
Maureen Flavin is trying to contact someone who bought magazines/products through the Magazine Drive. If you sold products to Lisa Fernandez, please contact Maureen at 563-7608.
SCHOOL PICTURES: Each student will bring home today an order form for school pictures to be taken next Thursday, October 14. Please return the completed order form with payment enclosed with your student. His homeroom teacher will hold on to the envelopes until picture day, when each student will hand his order to the photographer. No child will have an individual picture taken unless he has an order form and payment on picture day. PLEASE NOTE: Students may be out of uniform for these pictures. Refer to page 25 of the 2004-05 Parent-Student Handbook for appropriate out-of-uniform dress guidelines.
LIVING ROSARY: Parents, friends, and families are invited to join us for our first Living Rosary, presented by the eighth-grade class. The students will represent the rosary beads and lead us in a memorable prayer session. We hope you will be able to come and honor Mary with us and help celebrate October as the Month of the Rosary. We will hold this special ceremony in the church at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 15.
VOLLEYBALL NEWS: Attention, all girls registered to play volleyball--mark your calendars! There will be open gym on October 30 and again on November 7. Parents will be asked to attend "Gym Education" and complete forms while their daughters are attending the open gym. Specifics will be in the bulletin soon. Please call Laurie Hoffman (volleyball commissioner) at 733-9380 if you have any questions.
AFTER-SCHOOL PLANS: Parents, please make an effort to have your children come to school with after-school plans in place. There has been an increase in the past week or so in the number of students who ask to use the phone to find out how they're getting home, making sure mom knows there is an after-school activity, checking with parents about social plans, etc. Please refer to page 19 of the OLSH Parent-Student Handbook for our policy regarding this matter and discuss it with your children. It would make for a much smoother and less anxious dismissal time. We appreciate your cooperation.
THE CINCINNATI ENQUIRER EVENT: The Cincinnati Enquirer is sponsoring a Tri-State Student Journalists Association for aspiring journalists in grades 6 through 12. Events are free to students and teachers. Saturday, November 6 will be the first free event at channel 9, with information about studying journalism and internships followed by a tour of the Channel 9 studios. Space is limited. Interested students and teachers should e-mail Kathy Gutierrez at kgutierrez@enquirer.com to enroll.

WE'RE ON THE WEB!
You can now access the Principal's Bulletin by going to the OLSH Website (www.olshschool.net).
If you're reading this, you must have received
the Principal's Bulletin
by way of your child's weekly envelope.
We sometimes find crumpled, weeks-old Principal's
Bulletins in students' desks
when we're looking for textbooks/notebooks
to send home when children are absent;
so we naturally wonder about information making
it home.
The web is just another way you can receive
information about events going on at school
(or to recheck the lunch menu in the event
you misplace your copy of the bulletin!).
Also on the web…
Servers' schedules for all-school Masses,
school calendar to date, and Parish information.
We will be adding items from time to time.
Check us out!
