OPENING PRAYER - The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Tamara Anderson, PTO President. She opened the meeting with a prayer.

LADIES SODALITY PRESENTATION - Mary Engel and Marge Carey explained the functions performed by the Ladies Sodality group. Some of their responsibilities are: collecting baby gifts for the Pregnancy Center, making baptismal bibs, purchasing gifts for the Holy Communicants, sponsoring the Wedding Anniversary mass in May, cleaning church, cleaning the altar linens, sponsoring a bus for the Right to Life march in Washington, D.C. in January, and selling Right to Life Christmas cards.

They are always looking for new members. Dues are $5.00 per year. They are also looking for volunteers to assist them with their projects.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES - There are 2 corrections to the September minutes. The Fall Fundraiser was supported by 85% of our families, not students. Also, Sue Kettler volunteered to be the Committee Chair for the Publishing Center, not coordinator for the Publishing Center volunteers.

TREASURER REPORT - Pam reported we had income of $1,382 since the last meeting ($864 from Spaghetti dinner, $430 from September Market Day, and $88 from Tyson Foods labels). Expenses were $105 for flowers from the fish frys last Spring.

ORGANIZATIONAL REPORTS

Market Day - Lisa reported that 153 Boo bags were sold. Next month is pie month. Pie contest details will be sent out at a later date. We will hold the Pennies for Pies campaign this year (our spare change buys pies for the Thanksgiving food drive).

If possible, please place your Market Day order online. It makes it easier for the Market Day chairperson. Also, we are still looking for a Market Day chairperson(s).

Spaghetti dinner - Pam Kennedy reported that we had income of $864 from the Spaghetti Dinner. Thank you to the Curry’s who chaired this event, all the volunteers who worked, and all the people who ate at the dinner.

Skating parties - Janet Gates reported that 97 students attended the skating party. We lost $50 on this event, so we may need to raise the admission charge to $3.75 or $4.00. The next party is

March 29, 2007.

Yearbook update - Alison O’Neill reported that the cost of the yearbook will increase due to declining school enrollment. Next year’s yearbook will cost approximately $16, and will decrease in size by 4 pages. Alison reminded us that any digital pictures submitted to her must be 3.1 megapixels or higher.

Scripts Program - Sandy Champlin and Lori Stroehlein attended to give us an update on the Scripts program. Sandy advised us that Script gift cards will be sold every weekend until Christmas beginning with the weekend of November 11/12. Script cards will be sold after the Saturday and Sunday masses. Kroger gift cards will be handed out at Parent-Teacher conferences. Kroger gift cards generate approximately $400 a month income for the parish (based on 50 cards that are being recharged and used). Income from Scripts is split between the parish and school tuition reduction (70% to parish for non-budgeted items and 30% to tuition reduction). Scripts includes both local and national vendors.

Sandy and Lori are looking for volunteers to help them sell the Scripts gift cards after the masses in November and December.

OLD BUSINESS

Sound system in Activity Center - The money set aside for the sound system in the Activity Center was discussed. The PTO membership gave their approval for the PTO board to meet with Father Ron to discuss this matter. This topic will be discussed again next month.

NEW BUSINESS

COSI on Wheels - Alison O’Neill discussed the COSI on Wheels program. Mrs. Tebbe will discuss this with the teachers. If we decide to move forward with this program, Alison will be the chairperson.

UPCOMING PTO EVENTS

Conference Dinner on November 9 - Susie Finan is the chairperson.

Grandparent’s Day on November 21 - Chairpersons are Jennifer Gallo and Laura Schaeper.
