OPENING PRAYER - The meeting was called to order by Tamara Anderson. A prayer was read by Pam Kennedy.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES - There weren’t any corrections or additions to the March, 2007 minutes. Therefore, the minutes were approved as written.

TREASURER’S REPORT - Since the last meeting, we had income of $2,122 ($328 from the February Market Day, $294 from the March Market Day and $1,500 from the Fish Frys). We had expenses of $590 ($212 for the Variety show, $165 for the Publishing Center and $213 for the Confirmation Reception).

To date we have netted more on Market Day than we have planned.

ORGANIZATIONAL REPORTS

Market Day - Lisa was unable to attend. We are still looking for a Market Day chairperson for the “delivery day” responsibilities. Mrs. Adelmann has volunteered to do the Market Day “paperwork”.

OLD BUSINESS

Sound System in Activity Center - Pam Kennedy is working with a committee of people on upgrading the sound system in the Activity Center. American Sound did a demonstration of their recommended upgrade package. They suggest 2 parts to the package - a gym package that will be mounted on the wall and a theater option that will include a rolling case and additional microphones. This project has grown to be an “upgrade to the Activity Center” project. PTO has allocated $4000 for this project; additional funds will be received from YAC and the Scrips program. Pam suggested that we approve up to an additional $2000 for the project so we can purchase much-needed microphones. The membership voted on and approved this additional allocation of PTO funds.

Fish Frys - Mary Beth Armstrong reported that the fish frys went well. Per the financial report, PTO made $1500 on the fish frys. Thanks to everyone for their help in making this a success.

Roller Skating Party - Janet Gates reported that we broke even on the skating parties. The March 29 skating party was without a DJ due to an emergency situation; therefore no games or races were held. We are looking to change the time to 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Per note from Janet after the meeting: Next year’s skating parties will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 and Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Skatetown USA.

Parish Ministry Fair - Katie Leary reported that everything went fine. PTO did not receive any volunteer sign-ups at the Ministry Fair.

NEW BUSINESS

COSI on Wheels - The What’s Wild program will be presented on May 2. Alison O’Neill needs volunteers to staff the educational stations the students will visit. If you can volunteer, contact Alison.

Spirit Day - Spirit Day will be held on Thursday, May 31. T-shirt order forms and money are due back by tomorrow. If the eighth graders would like to help out, contact Mary Beth Armstrong. We are specifically looking for volunteers to babysit young children of Spirit Day volunteers. Sheri Fortner is coordinating the pizza lunch on Spirit Day.

Welcome Picnic - This will be held on August 19 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m at Swaim Park in Montgomery. At this picnic, current students will have the opportunity to meet the new students, and vice versa. Jeanne Fisher is coordinating this event. The PTO membership approved a $600 budget for this event.

Mother’s Day Flower Sale - Nothing to report.

First Communion Video - Jim Handorf talked to the company who produced the video 2 years ago. If there are less than 50 students purchasing the video, it is not worthwhile to produce it. Tamara will check with Fr. Ron on his position of video-taping First Communion.

Eighth Grade Graduation Reception - Nothing to report.

Author Visit - Pam talked to Mrs. Rohlfs and Mrs. Baker. The have agreed to coordinate the author visit next year. This expense has already been planned for in the 2007-2008 budget.

NOMINATION OF NEXT YEAR’S OFFICERS

The PTO membership voted on next year’s officers. These are the officers for next school year:

Tamara Anderson - President                                            Katie Leary - Vice President

Jeanne Fisher - Treasurer                                                   Karen Stevenson - Secretary

We thank Pam Kennedy for her years of service as the PTO Treasurer.

Volunteers will meet the last week of school (date and time to be decided) to clean out and organize the PTO room in the Parish Center. If you are available to help, contact one of the board members.

We are setting up a Parents Resource shelf in the Library. More information will come once this is set up and operative.

The May PTO meeting will be held May 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parish Center.
