Greetings from Grade 4,

Lent is upon us and we are busy learning about the meaning of the season. It is a time for prayer and reflection.We will think about the path that Jesus walked and the cross that he carried.Maybe they will share with you some of the ideas that we discussed in class.We will be praying the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary during Lent.

Our new book is Avalanche.This is action packed. The students should enjoy this one. It is filled with cause and effect and figurative language.We should finish this before Easter break

In Math, we will finish up our study of single digit long division and begin our study of fractions. Brace yourself for what the 4th graders will learn.

The Science posters about biomes were very interesting. We are now viewing many videos about the biomes before moving onto simple machines.

Our Social Studies postcard project is underway. Walk down the hallway and you can see how many we have received. Hopefully, by May 31st we will have achieved our goal.   We will begin the study of the Northeast states and capitals.

Hopefully, all measureable snowfall is over and spring isn't too far away.Enjoy the lengthening of the daylight and warmer temperatures.
