To the strains of “Eye of the Tiger’, OLSH students began the 2005-06 school year with a Spirit Rally. The theme of the rally was OLSH Tiger Power. White Thunder the school mascot made his appearance to cheers, music and applause. Many of the primary students had made headbands decorated with tigers. All decorations were blue and white the school colors.

Teachers, Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Guye and Mrs. Schworer who are members of the Spirit Committee had a “Spirited” afternoon planned for the students. Students earned tiger stripes by knowing the fifteen skills of the Discipline with Purpose program. Junior High students found Tiger Power cereal in whip cream. There was a Tiger Power toss and a Tiger Power cereal on a string games. Students enjoyed all the games. At the end White Thunder and the teachers led the students in a Tiger Kickboxing exercise to get their Tiger Power in condition for the school year ahead. As a finale, White Thunder, teachers, and students sang the school song. When the students left the gym, they received a bag of Tiger Power Trail Mix to send them on their way prepared for a new school year. Everyone agreed that Tiger Power equals OLSH Pride.
